FAQ’s & Tips for using the Membership Email List
Berean’s newly developed Membership List is an easy way for
any member of Berean Baptist Church to quickly communicate information to the
rest of the membership. As an example…. Recently, when rain threatened Kid’s
Fest, Bro. Robby Pollard sent an Email letting the membership know that Kid’s
Fest would go on, and was being moved indoors. With one email, everyone on the
list was immediately informed.
If you are not already a member, take a couple of minutes
to sign up. Just go to the Registration Page.
Here are some questions/comments we’ve received followed by
some suggestions:
- Can I reply to someone sending an email to the
membership?
Sure - Just use the "Reply to" feature in your Email software.
- I’m a member of the list but I’m not receiving any
emails.
When you send an email to the membership list, the email goes to the Berean
Email handler which then distributes the email to everyone. Since the email
is not actually addressed to your email address (it is addressed to
membership@berean-houston.org), many email programs like Outlook, AIM,
AOL and others will automatically assume the email is a Spam and will
forward it to your Junk Email Folder. Check your Junk Mail Folder for emails
addressed to the membership. If you find emails there, you may need to
“train” your email program by marking the email as “Not a Spam” so that in
the future, the emails will go to your Inbox instead of your Junk Mail Box.
- I’m ready to send an email to the membership. What do
I do?
First make sure that you are registered. If you have not already
registered, be sure and do so before sending an
email. Once registered, just send an email to
membership@berean-houston.org and everyone on the list will receive a
copy. Before pressing the send button, remember to check to make sure you
are following the Policies on the Registration Page.
- I registered, but when I send an email, I receive an
error message that tells me I can’t send an email to the membership list.
What do I do?
First, make sure that you’ve received an Email Registration Confirmation. If
you have, check and make sure you are sending an email from the same account
you registered. Anotherwords, if you have two email addresses, one with
Yahoo and one with AOL and you registered your Yahoo account, you can only
use your Yahoo account to send emails to the membership list. If your AOL is
not registered, emails from that account will not go through to the
membership.
- The Email I registered is misspelled. How can I change
it?
Just go to the Email registration page. Register
the correct Email and put the incorrect Email in box for Emails to be
removed from our Database.
- I’ve changed emails. How do I cancel my old Email and
register my new one?
Just follow the same steps as the previous question.
- I no longer want my email on the list. How do I get my
email removed?
Go to the Registration Page and put the Email you
want removed in the right field. Don’t forget to include your name so you
can be properly recognized.
- Does Berean share its Email list with anyone else?
Never. The list is the private property of Berean Baptist Church and is not
shared with anyone outside the Church membership.
