A Chronological Bible Curriculum

  This is a chronological survey of all major events and persons of the Bible. Inherent in each lesson will be (1) an unfolding of the story regarding the event or person, (2) background information and (3) application of the Bible account of the life of the student. The emphasis here is on the practical.

This curriculum attempts to systematically study through the Bible in 12 years. It is not intended to be an exhaustive study. It is intended to give students a functional knowledge of the whole Bible with considerable insight into each major event and person. Footnotes have been included to aid those intent on more in-depth study and those wishing to verify claims. Grateful acknowledgement is hereby given to the many, many great scholars whose input is reflected in this curriculum.

This curricilum is divided into years and quarterlies. In each quarterly, lesson 13 is always a review of the first 12. Review is always good to fix truths in minds, but these reviews are also included to give flexibility. Where this material is being taught in a Church Sunday School, the reviews could be skipped providing four Sundays each year for specialized lessons needed by that Church.

Much flexibility has been built into this curriculum. Each lesson is designed for both teacher and student. The "Lesson Outline" of each lesson is provided for study purposes while the "Summary" is more for casual reading. The "Lesson Outline" is well suited for lecture teachers while the "Questions" are provided for discussion teachers. The "Questions" also enable the teacher or student to gauge to test himself as to the mastery of the content. The material is ideally suited to Sunday school, but it is also suitable for other corporate types of study as well as for individual study.

For quick reference and to verify claims, scripture references and concepts are paired. The "Preparatory Daily Bible Readings" will saturate the student with Bible background. Much "white spaces" has been built into these lessons *(refers to the paper books only)* for note purposes. Though type size is identical, quarterlies are available in sizes 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 or 8-1/2 x 11.

It has been a pleasure to give a substantial part of my life to this work. I am grateful to all, who through the years, have impacted my life in such ways as to enable me to do this. Many, though dead or strangers to me, reached me through books; others in person. How I thank the Lord for the good Church which I pastor, which has had the vision and patience to allow me the time and resources to pursue such a consuming undertaking! I am also grateful for the great team of people who made the effort possible by editing, proof-reading and all the steps necessary to publishing.
