What a joy and a somber reminder it has been to share this "Parent and Their Precious Children".

In the first message, I share the fact that one of the "Eight Things Every Parent Should Give His Child" is attention. Yes! Your child needs you; not merely the material things you can give. Your child needs quality time with you; a time when he or she has your full attention.

I didn't give mine enough as they grew up. Seems that there was always a funeral, a wedding, a revival, a deadline, something really important going on at the church or someone who just had to have "five minutes of your time" right then. I could feel pretty sanctimonious about it because I was all wrapped up in "the Lord's work," and doing lots of "good."

My children, especially my sons, didn't quite see it that way. I am trying to play a little "catch up" these days and I thoroughly enjoyed the time with the only son I have left not too long ago. It was very precious to me. I would encourage every parent and grandparent to give attention to your children.
