If you are using Basic Bible Truths as your evangelism tool, lesson six completes the Evangelism phase of the four-phase discipleship cycle. Once you complete lesson six, your new disciple will have the big picture of Christianity, the broad overview. He is now ready to begin learning the ramifications of what it meant when he gave up his own life in favor of the control or lordship of Jesus Christ.
In session six, teach Basic Bible Truths lesson six. It is titled "Worshipping And Serving God Through His Church." By the time you finish the Basic Bible Truths series, your candidate should have followed the Lord in baptism and be ready for intense discipleship training. If you won the person to Christ, you are the ideal candidate to conduct his discipleship training. If your church has another system, where someone other than the person who won him picks up and conducts discipleship training, see that the new believer is paired with a discipler. For obvious reasons, it is better for men to disciple men and women should disciple women. Also, those who win many to Christ can become saturated and not have sufficient time to take on a new disciple. Discipleship is a time-consuming work. You should not attempt to disciple more than your capacity allows. Seek help from others, older brothers and sisters.
